If you mess up, say so honestly. Otherwise things will take a bad turn eventually. No one ever gets something good by being a dick about it. There's no reason to be rude. Even in stressful situations, dishonesty and rudeness only make things worse.

If you do something wrong, stand up for it. Learn from your mistakes and do it better next time. And when you achieve something amazing - own that too. Both sides matter. Take responsibility for failures and credit for wins.
